Los Angeles

It had been 36 years since I had been to Los Angeles so I really wanted to get to know the city a little better.  I’m a planner – not great at surprises..Johns a ‘don’t worry it will be fine’ kinda guy..Yeah right! Hence whys he’s Business Development and I’m Operations.
So I booked us in the Biltmore – Totally awesome right in the heart of downtown LA.

The Millennium Biltmore Hotel is a grand old lady. For 90 years her rooms have housed celebrities, presidents and dignitaries. Plus now that we have stayed there we keep noticing how often she appears in TV programs like Drop Dead Diva (one of our favs). Perfect location for our Melting Pot Tour as we were only a hop skip to China Town. Once we had our bearings, after the tour, we started catching the Metro – so got to see Union Station and traveled like a local to Hollywood boulevard.

Yes that is a local on their way home from work!!

Just finished work on Hollywood strip

We packed a lot into our first 4 days..it was all about food & adventure..a taste sensation of extremes from Goat Stew to Tamales, Chocolate sundaes at Disney‘s Soda Fountain & Studio Store, Starbucks and the Jumbo combo at Hard rock cafe at Universal City Walk.

We walked the Walk of fame…for those that know John this was his favorite!

We supported a local cause…a rapper touting his music I have no idea why John brought the CD? and we still haven’t played it, it probably has nothing on it!

This picture just totally describes Hollywood – Master Chief and Tourists.

We did Universal Studios I was so excited because they had just launched Transformers the 3D ride..Twitter was a mass of excitement over this and we got in on Studio rehearsals open to the public prior to launch date.. I did it twice..once with eyes half closed and then again with them wide open. John loves roller coasters..me not so much but I love these new generation rides and nearly high-fived Optimus & Bumblebee..(yeah total embarrassment apparently they are not real)

Get the front of line pass and just do it !….Oh and this time I didn’t scare the tourists on the Back Lot tour by screaming..just grabbed a great Instagram shot instead.

We are big kids at heart and when you go to LA its the perfect place to dream a little, play a lot and soak up the Hollywood glam..I could live there…totally I could…pass me my sunglasses I can see the paparazzi coming….!

In case your wondering..he is real and we staked out Lisa Marie Presley at The Grove together. I even introduced him to Instagram..the beauty of our modern phones these days! Perfect for the back pocket around LA.
