Its #Vegas Baby!

I actually wasn’t that tickled about going to Vegas.…and then..well lets say ‘What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas’. Shes a sly sassy city that sucks you in with her coy colorful swagger. The warmth of her breath as she whispers in your ear….go on….just try me!

We arrived in Vegas late in the afternoon with a Nevada sunset chasing our tail into the twinkling lights. Wasn’t the best start as we got hijacked by those delightful timeshare rascals that pretty much pick pocket a half price ticket to Cirque du Soleil ‘Love’ and a moment of their time the next day!!..What no way we didn’t..but yes totally conned into a 3 hour very one-sided conversation. For those that know me I am not pretty when rattled..and unfortunately the poor guy got a less than warm reception from me. With divine hot weather my icy demeanor melted (after we left) and we got into the swing of things…..after all Vegas is a playground…isn’t that right?

We did Vegas in two stops..on the way to Flagstaff via Hoover Dam and then on the way back to LA. We walked and walked ..good god how many Casinos can you walk through in a day..hence why you need to do Vegas little BUT often..and with flat shoes..I love shoes…..its was a mecca of shoes shops and I had hot swollen feet and couldn’t buy any….so back to the jandels I went.

We totally hit the Premium Outlet stores and I became best friends with a young lady at True Religion..wont tell you how much we spent but OMG! We so needed that extra suitcase… Kate Spade I ♥ you..Bags and shoes..hell yeah!. As for the shows…well that is an awesome reason to keep going back.

Cirque du Soleil ‘Love’ was incredible and John being ever thoughtful got us a LITRE of a cocktail EACH…I did nearly pass out later that night..heat..a small dinner!!…stilettos..my only attempt at wearing high shoes the whole trip..total #fail
We didn’t really have time to do lots of shows, so the only other one we did, just because we could, was the Peep show by Holly Madison Excellent is all I can say and Holly, well she is even more stunning in real life than on TV…yes we got seats that close!!

We tried to do all the usual things..Bellagio Fountain, M&M world (sweet tooth), walked almost one end of the strip to the other..snuck in the Fremont street experience..a little scary! more than your normal variety of people there. We lay around the pool at the Stratosphere soaking up the rays and watching complete idiots bungy off the side of the building. We also went up one night and watched the rides..seriously its 1,149 foot tall..why would you do it but its great to zoom to the top (ears popping) day or night as the views are magic. Actually if we went back we would stay there again..not as frantic as the Luxor end (stayed at Luxor first visit) and as long as you have a car you can drive & park for free at any casino. We had an excellent view/room at Stratosphere after a thoughtful upgrade by the check in sweetheart..have to say those Californian king beds are…a good reason to come back and buy a Super king for ourselves.

We did a small spot of coin tossing into cavernous slot machines..no luck but the free margarita wets the whistle before dinner. Struggled with the cigarette smoke..its about time they banned it..but you can find respite in the myriad of shopping malls that weave in and out of the Casinos.

Spring in Vegas was a little bit of second honeymoon heaven for us..It is a city that gives 24/7..but it would be a damn fine place for a girls weekend…any one keen to join me?
